Flat World

Provided by Greater Everett Community Foundation

Description:
Thomas L Friedman’s book, The World is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century was the inspiration for these scholarships. Friedman wrote: “What the flattening of the world means is that we are now connecting all the knowledge centers on the planet together into a single global network.” These scholarships are for helping and recognizing the future developers of “a single global network”- students who excel in math, science and the application of technology. These scholars will allow us all to compete in an ever-flattening world. The Flat World Scholarship was started in 2006 by anonymous donors and is an endowed fund that is managed by the Greater Everett Community Foundation. Two scholarships will be given annually.
