G.O. and Ione Ewart Scholarship

Description:
The G.O. and Ione Ewart Educational Trust Fund was initiated to provide financial resources for a graduating senior from Connell High School. G.O. was the youngest Superintendent of Schools in Iowa at age 21. He served the North Franklin School District in Washington State as a secondary teacher and later as Superintendent of Schools. Ione touched the lives of many children as the Connell Elementary School secretary. This scholarship is given in recognition of their service to the community and their devotion to education. Grants are made with the understanding that the applicant will enroll in, and complete, a minimum of 12 credit hours each term. The applicant agrees that a proportional part of the grant will be refunded to Columbia Basin Foundation if the student does not complete full-time coursework during any term.
