Amanda Evans Scholarship

Provided by Columbia Basin Foundation

Description:
This fund was established in honor of Amanda Evans through the generosity of family, friends and the community! Amanda was a 2007 graduate of Ephrata High School. She passed away suddenly in November 2007 due to a rare heart condition known as Long QT Syndrome. One of Amanda's dreams was to finish college and begin a teaching career. She always gave 100 percent of herself to whatever she was doing, whether running, playing, school, singing, working, etc. Amanda's greatest love was people, loving everyone and always putting their needs before her own. She looked for the best in everyone she met and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Establishing a scholarship fund to help others who worked hard but who would have financial challenges in paying for college was something Amanda had spoke of doing someday. So, it is fitting that we honor Amanda by creating a scholarship in her name to assist students in their educational pursuits. She would have wanted it that way. Grants are made with the understanding that the applicant will enroll in, and complete, a minimum of 12 credit hours each term. The applicant agrees that a proportional part of the grant will be refunded to Columbia Basin Foundation if the student does not complete full-time coursework during any term.
